DMG Acquires Abu Dhabi Oil Exhibition

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Redhill, U.K. – dmg world media has acquired the rights to the biennial Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), one of the largest oil and natural gas exhibitions in the world. The  2004 event featured 1,225 companies from 53 countries worldwide.

ADIPEC has been run by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), which is  currently building a new exhibition center that will include 57,000 square meters (613,543 square feet) of hall space. It will open for business in time for the 2008 show; the 2006 event will be held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre on Nov. 5-8.

dmg said it planned to use the new facility as the venue for a major natural gas show to be launched in 2009. In the meantime, dmg plans to increase the size of ADIPEC in its current location in the run-up to 2008.

dmg world media is already one of the leading exhibition organizers in the Middle East. The company produces Dubai’s Big 5 and Index, which are among the largest in the region.  dmg says it is actively increasing its range of shows and presence in the Middle East exhibition industry.
