Diversified’s Canada Unit to Acquire Disaster Management Show

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Toronto, ON – Diversified Business Communications Canada  is acquiring the World Conference on Disaster Management from the non-profit Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness (CCEP).

Terms of the deal were not revealed, although CCEP will remain on board as a major sponsor and will also continue to organize the educational component of the Toronto event.

Bob Macgregor, managing director of Diversified Business Communications Canada, said the acquisition created a solid team. “Our extensive experience in managing large conferences, including ProjectSummit, BusinessAnalystWorld, and Primary Care Today, together with CCEP’s industry expertise, positions us well to produce this event,” he said.

The World Conference on Disaster Management covers several aspects of the management of emergency situations, in particular as it relates to business recovery and risk management. The 2007 event drew 1,800 attendees and filled  100,000 gross square feet of exhibition space at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The 18th annual edition of the show will take place June 15-18, 2008 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
