Diversified Reorganizes AEC-ST Tech Conferences

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Portland, Maine – The AEC-ST conference brand is being relaunched with two events in Washington DC and Anaheim under a partnership between AEC Science & Technology and Diversified Communications.

The two overhauled conferences, which include an exhibit area, debut next year with the AEC-ST brand acting as an umbrella organizer for a collection of smaller niche conferences in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) technology sector.

“By merging our own content with AEC-ST’s, the attendees and exhibitors will have exposure to even more solutions for making our ‘built’ world a better place, including sustainable design, green building and environmentally friendly construction,” said Diversified Group Vice President Bob Callahan.

The “conferences-within-a-conference” lineup includes:

  • The National BIM Conference
  • The National High-Performance Building Conference
  • BIM in the Academy
  • The National Specifiers Conference.

A course syllabus would enable attendees to map out a personalized educational track from the offerings at each conference.

The AEC-ST brand was first launched in 1980. The AEC-ST concept debuted in 2005 and has included events in Orlando, Toronto and Manila as well as Washington and Anaheim over the years. “Through their years of service to the design and construction community, AEC has innovated and nurtured tech-minded AEC professional development for more than 35 years. It makes sense for us to work together and combine resources,” Callahan said. “We are looking forward to adding their content to our future events as we continue to grow and expand our industry mission.”

George Borkovich, Founder and Principal of AEC-ST, called the partnership with Diversified an “evolutionary step” in remaining relevant in a rapidly evolving industry sector. “I am excited for the opportunity to continue to provide top-notch conference programming for AEC information exchange, and a commercial marketplace for high-tech building products, services and solutions.”
