CHICAGO — David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA, President and CEO, IAEE (International Association of Exhibitions and Events) was appointed President CEO of Exhibitor Group, effective Oct. 1, 2023. He will also be on the senior management team of Star Group, the parent company of Exhibitor Group.
Industry veteran of more than 45 years, David DuBois served in his role at IAEE for 11 years, providing strategic insights and helping to guide the association forward according to its vision and values. DuBois played an integral role in leading IAEE through the pandemic, being a strong voice and advocate for the trade show and exhibition industry.
“I’m going to leave the organization in great shape,” DuBois said. “We survived the pandemic with minimal financial damage, and I’m leaving the best staff the organization has ever had.”
DuBois will depart IAEE at the end of September, the end of IAEE’s fiscal year, and the new CEO for the association is expected to be chosen by the beginning of November.

Prior to IAEE, DuBois served as President and CEO of the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, Chief Operating Officer for Meetings Professionals International (MPI), Executive Director for the MPI Foundation, and President/CEO and Senior Vice President at the Professional Convention Management Association. He also served as Volunteer Chairman for the Convention Industry Council (now Events Industry Council) in 2015. He was inducted into the Events Industry Council Hall of Leaders in 2019 for his exceptional tenure as a leader for the industry.
