David Audrain Leaving Messe Frankfurt

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Atlanta, GA — David Audrain announced he would be stepping down as president & CEO of Messe Frankfurt USA at the end of the year.

Audrain, a member of the U.S. trade show industry for more than 20 years, said in an email he would be looking for new opportunities after his contract expires on December 31. “I believe the time is right to find some new challenges, to take advantage of the opportunities that the current market conditions are creating for change in our industry.” he wrote. “So I look forward with great excitement to taking on those challenges.”

Audrain told Trade Show Executive his goal was “most definitely staying in the exhibition industry” and would have further specifics about his plans at the end of the year.

There was no immediate word from Messe Frankfurt USA on who would step into Audrain’s position. The company last month promoted Stephanie Everett to vice president in charge of nine trade shows in the U.S. and Canada.

Audrain spent six years at the helm of Messe Frankfurt USA. Prior to that, he was in top management positions at Convexx, Advanstar Communications, Hanley-Wood, Miller Freeman and the Texas Restaurant Association. He is a past chairman of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Society of Independent Show Organizers and the Center for Exhibition Industry Research.
