CHICAGO — CONEXPO-CON/AGG is gearing up for the biggest edition of the construction trade show in history, taking place March 14-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

Produced by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and held every three years, CONEXPO-CON/AGG had sold out all available exhibit space by December 2022 and is about 5% bigger than the record set in 2020.

The 2023 edition of the trade show will feature more than 2,000 exhibitors spanning nearly 3 million square feet of exhibit space, which includes space in the West Hall and Diamond Lot at the LVCC to accommodate the higher number of exhibitors. For veterans of CONEXPO-CON/AGG, this is where the Gold Lot used to be. The Diamond Lot will host 126 exhibitors and the West Hall, which features many large exhibits, will host 160 exhibitors this year.

Also pacing ahead is attendance, with the pace of registration being nearly double what it was for the 2020 show. The 2023 edition is anticipated to attract 130,000 construction professionals to the LVCC. Attendees will be able to use the Las Vegas Passenger Loop, an underground all-electric vehicle transportation system that connects the South Hall, North Hall and Diamond Lot to nearby resorts, allowing people to quickly travel between locations.

“Exhibiting companies know their customers are here and they don’t want to miss the opportunity to connect with them and show off their innovations and products,“ AEM Vice President of Exhibitions & Event Services and CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show Director Dana Wuesthoff said. “Construction pros from around the globe come to CONEXPO-CON/AGG to network with other professionals, learn from our education sessions and to touch and feel the next-level equipment and products. This is truly the value of in-person events. We also hear from contractors that one of the greatest values of the show is the unexpected things they find when walking the show floor. This is when they find solutions to challenges and find products that they didn’t know existed.”

New to CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the Community Zone, a dedicated space in the Festival Lot for networking, grabbing refreshments and participating in different events throughout the show. Dave Turin of Discovery’s “Goldrush” and “Dave Turin’s Lost Mine” and Aaron Witt, Founder of BuildWitt, will open the Community Zone with an informative talk which will be followed by a Q&A session.

“The Community Zone is the kind of area attendees have been asking for,” Wuesthoff said. “It’s a place for construction pros to recharge their devices and recharge themselves, all while still being able to continue learning and enjoying their experience at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.”

Another exciting part of this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the guide of recommended places to visit while attendees are in Las Vegas, which the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority assisted with compiling. The list is great for those who want to see and experience things outside of the LVCC and gives attendees the opportunity to check out a new spot in the city.

In support of an increased focus on sustainability, the trade show is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to work toward planting 130,000 trees in forests of greatest need. Each tree represents one registrant of CONEXPO-CON/AGG, making the high pace of registration even more impactful. Along with the partnership, exhibitors will be showcasing their sustainable products, technologies and innovations representing the construction industry’s efforts to support a more sustainable world.
