NEW YORK CITY — CloserStill Media acquired Billington CyberSecurity, an independent organizer of leading events that bring together the public and private sectors of cybersecurity in the U.S.
Billington CyberSecurity launched in 2010 and has been consistently growing over the last 16 years — the 2025 edition of the Billington CyberSecurity Summit that took place Sept. 9-12 in Washington, D.C., broke records with more than 3,000 attendees, 158 sponsors and more than 300 speakers.
The organizer also hosts the Billington State & Local CyberSecurity Summit, focused on gathering cyber leaders from all levels of government, and a year-round Leadership Council for ongoing conversations between the federal, state and local cyber communities.
For CloserStill Media, this represents the fourth acquisition of this year (the third that is based in the U.S.) and strengthens its North American portfolio which contains more than 25 events focused on technology, infrastructure and healthcare sectors.
Thomas K. Billington, Founder and CEO of Billington CyberSecurity will stay on as the CEO and lead the program’s content in the new role of Chief Content Officer.
