Clarion Events Acquires MAU, an Annual Summit for App Developers

Hil Anderson, Senior Editor

TRUMBULL, Conn. – Clarion Events acquired MAU, an annual Las Vegas conference and exhibition for the developers of mobile applications for the marketing sector.

Clarion will add its prowess in marketing and sales to the MAU (Mobile Apps Unlocked) team, which will continue to be led by Michelle Troop until the conclusion of next year’s event, which takes place May 6-7, 2020, at the MGM Grand.

“We are excited to welcome MAU into the team at Clarion,” said Greg Topalian, CEO of Clarion Events North America. “This is an exciting milestone and I look forward to what we’ll deliver together to the current and future customers of MAU.”

The MAU conference was launched in 2014 as part of the Grow.co portfolio. The event currently draws around 2,500 attendees representing major mobile brands such as Amazon, Twitch, Expedia, and Zillow.

The event features an exhibit component and is focused on a strong roster of speakers and educational events. Topalian said the acquisition accelerated Clarion’s current push in the digital-marketing sector, which has featured the expansion of its Digital Agency Expo along with the acquisition of Traffic & Conversion Summit in 2018.
