Caesars Begins Construction of Las Vegas Conference Hall

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

LAS VEGAS —Reservations are already coming in for the conference center Caesars Entertainment is building along the Las Vegas Strip.

Caesars President and CEO Mark Frissora said bookings were already streaming in for the new Caesars Forum, which will open in 2020 within walking distance of 20,000 Caesars hotel rooms. “There is $70 million worth of conference business contracted for The Forum … even before there has been a shovel in the ground,” he said, minutes before the ceremonial shovels hit dirt for the $375-million project’s July 16 groundbreaking.

“Caesars Forum will be a gateway to Caesars Entertainment’s network of exclusive offerings that guests and organizations have come to expect,” Frissora said. “In the center of the Las Vegas Strip with direct access to three of our premiere resorts, Caesars Forum builds on our strategy of investing in infrastructure that enhances long-term value for our guests.”

The first booking was signed by the American School Counselor Association, which will bring 3,500 attendees to town in July 2021.

The Forum is set to provide trade show organizers with space to work with for social events and smaller-scale exhibitions. The 650,000-square-foot (sf) building will feature a total of four ground-level ballrooms, plus a 100,000-sf outdoor event space. “You have the two largest pillarless and two largest divisible ballrooms ever built,” Chief Sales Officer Michael Massari said. “It’s a basket of goods that other cities really don’t have to offer, and Las Vegas can.”

The Forum is set in the middle of Caesars’ room inventory behind the LINQ Promenade retail district. It features skybridge connections to the LINQ Hotel and Casino and to Harrah’s Las Vegas. A pedestrian bridge links the property to the Flamingo.

The specifics include:

  • Two 110,000-sf pillarless ballrooms
  • Two 40,000-sf ballrooms
  • More than 100 breakout rooms
  • Nine loading docks
  • Designed for LEED Silver rating.

The Forum’s most unique feature, however, is the outdoor Forum Plaza, which is anchored by the High Roller Ferris wheel and can be used for large receptions, banquets, concerts and activities such as wellness breaks.
