BOB.tv to Launch Network for the Events Industry

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Atlanta, GA – The use of Internet videos to share content with event professionals takes an evolutionary step forward August 5 with the launch of a network for the exhibition industry by bXb Group, LLC. The goal is to build a strong knowledge base and community, and elevate the events industry in the global business community.

Tony Lorenz, co-founder and CEO of bXb, will cut the digital ribbon at 10:30 a.m. EDT on Monday for the new BOB.tv – The Best of Business service — with a package of speakers and sessions presented at the ASAE 2013 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Atlanta August 3-6.

The streaming video from Atlanta is not designed to be a one-shot event. BOB.tv is positioning the new channel, known as BtoB Events Industry Network, to be a platform for future interviews, case studies, white papers and video-on-demand that will be readily available for members of the trade show industry.

Lorenz said bXb was at work on similar content channels for other industries. “While the premier network serves the events community, additional networks serving mainstream vertical market segments are currently under development,” he said. “As we move into additional industry networks, rotating teams of subject-matter experts in those industries will be continually deployed in the content aggregation and curation process,” Lorenz told Trade Show Executive. “Over time, we will rely on the “Bobsters,” our BOB.tv audience, to identify strong content in their industry, and weigh in on the quality of posted content.”

The material for BOB.tv networks is researched and reviewed by a team that selects material pertinent to the audience. In the case of the network dubbed BtoB Events Industry Network, bXb teamed up with ASAE, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA); the Convention Industry Council (CIC); and other industry associations for their input.

“BOB.tv is one more example where, through these industry partnerships, we are able to offer meeting professionals easy access to high quality educational content and industry programming,” said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of Meeting Planners International.
