AVIXA Acquires Lightapalooza, Plans Co‑Located Show at InfoComm 2027

FAIRFAX, Va. — AVIXA acquired the Lightapalooza residential lighting conference and trade show from the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA). The show’s next edition will be co-located with InfoComm 2027 in Orlando, an event which AVIXA bills as “The World’s Most Vital Pro AV Show.”

Lightapalooza launched in 2022 and is a conference and trade show that centers on residential illumination, energy control and natural light optimization, bringing together custom electronics integrators, lighting manufacturers, lighting designers, specifiers, buying groups, architects and designers.

The event grew from 225 attendees at launch to more than 1,600 in 2026 and has become part of a broad shift: Lighting has emerged as the fastest-growing category in residential custom integration.

“The creation of Lightapalooza was driven by the demand from manufacturers and integrators in the residential lighting space for a more focused, purpose-driven environment to connect, learn and do business,” Jenn Heinold, Senior Vice President, Expositions, Americas, AVIXA, said. “The show’s rapid growth clearly demonstrated that unmet need. HTSA was looking for an organization that could support the continued growth of the event, and we were actually connected by a shared exhibitor, which is such a compliment.

Jenn Heinold, Senior Vice President, Expositions, Americas, AVIXA

“From there, everything just made sense. AVIXA brings the platform of InfoComm, our marketing, educational and event execution excellence to the table, and Lightapalooza brings a high-value adjacent community for us to serve. HTSA will still be involved in the education program and will continue to support the show. It’s really a win-win.”

Heinold explained that by welcoming the residential lighting community to InfoComm, this move reinforces the show’s role as the home for integrated experience professionals, whether they work in commercial, residential or hybrid environments.

“Lighting control and design is the fastest-growing segment for residential integration firms, many of whom also do small commercial projects, which are built with the products and solutions on InfoComm’s show floor,” Heinold said. “Incorporating Lightapalooza’s exhibitors and attendee base is a natural progression for InfoComm and we’re curating the experience so that the core value of Lightapalooza — the education and networking — remains, just at a slightly larger scale. InfoComm can serve the residential lighting community by doing what it does best: providing an experiential show for connection and education — now tailored to the specific needs of residential lighting professionals. I’m very grateful to work for a growth-minded association that is open to acquiring and launching events as part of its mission to serve the community. This is a really exciting opportunity for both InfoComm and Lightapalooza.”

InfoComm 2027 will take place at the Orange County Convention Center. Its exhibits will be open June 16-18 and its education will take place June 12-18.
