LONDONArc, the global events, data and media platform, entered into an agreement to acquire a portfolio of events and related media assets for the HR Technology and Education Technology sectors from LRP Media Group.

“The most important part of this deal is, of course, these incredible brands,” Arc CEO Simon Foster said. “We believe the teams and brands have a lot of potential for further growth, and we’re looking forward to working with them to realize that potential, both in the US and internationally. This transaction also gives the Arc network a platform in the U.S. We will work on continuing to develop the platform, which will give us opportunities for our brands in Europe and for further launches and growth throughout the network within the region.”

The acquisition, which is expected to close at the end of October, will be the sixth and largest acquisition in the 14 months since Arc’s inception. Complementing Arc’s European business, the acquisition will expand the U.S. Arc network through the assets. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In late August, Arc acquired HighQuest, a Massachusetts-based group that produces events and media for the agribusiness and agri-investment sectors. This second U.S.-based acquisition will nearly double the size of the group, and it balances its revenue across Europe and the U.S.

“They are a great fit with us because their approach mirrors what we believe is so important about bringing people and communities together,” Foster said. “These portfolios have really embraced community engagement in the whenever, wherever, however way that is at the center of our proposition as Arc. They are not just large successful events but true omni-channel businesses at the heart of their communities.”

Arc’s strategy of connecting business communities in the ways they need is reflected by the soon-to-be-acquired portfolio, which provides a range of diverse engagement solutions for networking and growth. Professionals are brought together through content platforms and events, like HR Technology Conference and Expo, Future of Education Technology Conference, Human Resource Executive, District Administration and University Business

“Our role is to help support the teams and their vision for the brands,” Foster said. “We hope attendees and exhibitors feel like all of the products, including the events, are constantly improving and innovating. We hope the customers will get more value out of the various meaningful interactions we create for them throughout the year. We want to be able to give each team the resources, focus, tools, access to knowledge, whatever they need to be excellent.”
