Rockville, MD – Access Intelligence, LLC (AI) expanded its energy conference portfolio by fully acquiring RETECH from The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), the industry association that had co-produced the event with The TradeFair Group, a division of AI.
The annual event, which will be held next at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center September 20-22, 2011, draws approximately 200 exhibitors and a long list of speakers on various aspects of alternative energy.
The agreement will continue a strategic partnership between AI and ACORE that began last year. Under the partnership, AI managed RETECH on behalf of ACORE and also owned a minority stake in the event. The new arrangement adds RETECH to The TradeFair Group, which also produces the Electric Power exposition and EnergyOcean International conference, and publishes POWER magazine.
Don Pazour, president and CEO of AI, said the acquisition and the continuing relationship with ACORE would strengthen his company’s overall strategy of building up mutually supportive paid content and events.
Last year, AI acquired EnergyOcean International and launched Clean Energy Daily. Both are companion products of AI’s long-running publication The Energy Daily.
