LAS VEGAS — Caesars Palace invited Trade Show Executive and other events industry publications to participate in its 60th anniversary celebrations.
We got an inside look at the venue’s history and current operations, along with a sneak peek at its future.
Defining Modern Hospitality
In 1966, Jay Sarno founded Caesars to create “a palace for everyone,” where every guest is treated like an emperor.
Located in the heart of the Vegas Strip, the venue helped define modern hospitality with its Roman-inspired architecture, exceptional service, world-class accommodations, award-winning dining and legendary entertainment.
“Over the decades, the property became synonymous with entertainment leadership, hosting legends from Frank Sinatra to modern global superstars at The Colosseum,” Reina Herschdorfer, Director of Marketing, National Meetings & Events at Caesars Entertainment Meetings & Events, said. “It pioneered destination dining through celebrity chef partnerships and elevated retail with The Forum Shops, one of the most successful luxury shopping destinations in the country.”

Caesars Palace became a cultural icon and has appeared in films, hosted championship boxing and served as the backdrop for historic moments that shaped global perceptions of Las Vegas.
For more than six decades, the facility has navigated competitive waves, economic shifts, ownership transitions and the evolving expectations of travelers and attendees. Adapting to a rapidly changing industry, it embraced trends such as the rise of mega‑resorts and the shift from gaming‑centric tourism to experience‑driven travel in Las Vegas.
“Its response has always been reinvestment and reinvention,” Herschdorfer added. “Caesars consistently modernizes its towers, refreshes villas, upgrades AV and production capabilities, enhances guest flow and expands its meeting footprint. This resilience is part of its brand strength: the ability to evolve without losing the iconic identity that planners and attendees recognize instantly.”
Through the years, as the resort expanded into a multi‑tower campus with more than 300,000 square feet of meeting space, it cemented its role as a premier event venue.
The property’s meeting and event spaces have expanded dramatically. Today, they include flexible ballrooms, breakout rooms and pre‑function areas that connect seamlessly to dining, entertainment and retail options. Modern AV capabilities, improved attendee flow and scalable housing blocks across multiple towers allow organizers to design experiences that feel both expansive and intimate.
Also, the campus layout supports high‑energy expos, hosted‑buyer programs, general sessions and immersive brand activations in a walkable environment that keeps attendees engaged throughout the day.
“Event professionals benefit from a destination that blends flexibility, luxury and brand power,” Herschdorfer said. “Caesars Palace offers extensive meeting and exhibit space, tiered room inventory ranging from guestrooms to luxury villas and a wide selection of celebrity chef restaurants, lounges and entertainment venues. The Colosseum provides opportunities for a keynote, buyouts or custom entertainment integrations, while the property’s center‑strip location enhances exhibitor visibility and attendee convenience. Most importantly, the Caesars brand itself drives attendance; attendees know it, trust it and are excited to experience it.”
Today, Caesars Palace features 3,960 guestrooms and suites, more than 300,000 square feet of flexible meeting and convention space, more than 30 acclaimed restaurants and entertainment venues, and the Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis.
Its visitors can also enjoy Qua Baths & Spa, which was where TSE’s visit began on Aug. 28.
Luxury Experiences
Inspired by the healing traditions of ancient Rome, Caesars Palace’s newly renovated spa has serene spaces, innovative treatments and a modern fitness center.
Visitors can enjoy thermal therapy, guided wellbeing circuits and a plant-powered refreshment bar as well.
Qua Baths & Spa offers group packages where attendees can unwind in 50- or 100-minute sessions and enjoy Signature Massage, CBD Massage Ritual, Signature Facial and HydraFacial treatments.
Next, TSE visited Nobu at Caesars Palace, one of the venue’s premium dining options. Its menu includes imported Asian and Japanese fish, seafood and exotic delicacies, along with a wide range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Nobu Caesars Palace can host special events ranging from 14-150 guests and semi-private events ranging from 30-75 guests.
Afterward, TSE took to the skies with Maverick Helicopters, flying over the glittering Vegas Strip at night.
Maverick has a suite of options in Las Vegas for corporate events and hosts experiences in California and Maui as well.
On Aug. 29, TSE started the day at Restaurant Guy Savoy, where Dr. Kenneth L. Mattox, one of the world’s leading trauma and acute care surgeons, spoke to the group.
Mattox has directed the Mattox Vegas Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery course for more than two decades. It has taken place at Caesars for almost every edition and is billed as the longest running show at a single location in Las Vegas.
“We discovered Caesars is a cut above, and we wanted our course to be a national cut above,” Mattox said. “Caesars has affected us as we’ve affected them, and [the event] went from 200-300 [attendees] a year to more than 1,000 a year. … I met three Presidents of Caesars Palace, and they quickly became family.”
Mattox explained that this family went beyond the venue’s leadership and included its staff members across departments.
“I recognize them for their years of consistency,” Mattox said. “Some of the best consistent jobs in Las Vegas are at Caesars Palace, and that meant something to us. We decided to keep staying … [and] we found that Caesars Palace was willing to be an innovator for collaborative changes.”
During breakfast at Restaurant Guy Savoy, which has numerous BEO options, TSE heard from James Hogg, Executive Director of Luxury Hotel Operations at Caesars Palace.
Hogg described the venue’s history, colorful beginnings and current operations.
“It’s incredible to understand how quickly Las Vegas changes, but how enduring one man’s [Jay Sarno] thought was,” Hogg said. “We’ve been here 60 years. We’ve never changed our service. If you don’t feel like an emperor, we lost.”
Next, TSE visited The Mob Museum. Its exhibits provide a provocative, contemporary look at the history of organized crime and its impact on American society.
The Mob Museum also has wide-ranging event packages and a full buyout capacity for 600 guests reception-style and 330 guests seated in rounds.
Finally, it was time for the long-awaited 60th anniversary celebration of Caesars Palace.
Celebrating 60 Years
On the evening of Aug. 29, Caesars hosted a 2,000-person black-tie gala dinner for its most valued customers.
MCd by Colin Jost and featuring a headline performance by the Doobie Brothers, it reinforced the venue’s deep connection to world-class entertainment and its ability to deliver high-touch, high-impact experiences at scale.

The event featured artifacts from Caesars’ history and its decor harkened back to its Roman heritage.
“The 60th anniversary of Caesars Palace is a defining moment that underscores the property’s legacy as one of the most influential destinations in global hospitality,” Herschdorfer said. “For Caesars, this milestone represents six decades of shaping the Las Vegas experience, not only through entertainment and luxury, but through its leadership in meetings, conventions and large‑scale events. It signals to conference and trade show organizers that Caesars Palace is a venue with proven longevity, continuous reinvestment and a brand powerful enough to elevate any event placed within its walls. This anniversary reinforces Caesars Palace as a trusted, future‑focused partner for planners who need both scale and sophistication.”
Looking Ahead
Caesars’ story does not stop at year 60, though.
Herschdorfer shared that it is entering a new era defined by luxury, modernization and experiential design.
Renovated towers, new villas, refreshed nightlife concepts like OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar and continued enhancements to meeting spaces signal a future built around high‑impact events and elevated guest experiences.
“The property is layering new luxury onto a proven foundation, ensuring that future conferences and trade shows benefit from both innovation and stability,” Herschdorfer said. “The excitement lies in the balance: Planners can rely on Caesars Palace’s legacy while tapping into its newest offerings. The 60th anniversary is not just a celebration of longevity, it’s a reminder of why Caesars Palace remains one of the most powerful venues in the world for conferences and trade shows.
“When organizers choose Caesars Palace, they’re choosing a destination engineered for impact, designed for storytelling and built to make every moment feel monumental. It is a venue where history elevates the present, and where every event becomes part of a legacy six decades in the making.”
