Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS TSE’S READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS PROGRAM?

In today’s competitive business environment, where markets, technology and customer needs are rapidly changing, it is important to identify and nurture bold new ideas and solutions. Trade Show Executive’s prestigious Innovation Awards, which began in 2002, salutes those who are making waves, defying tradition and creating new value for the exposition industry as a whole. TSE’s Readers’ Choice - Innovation Awards is the next step in this evolution, where nominations are voted on by our 5,000 magazine subscribers and 8,120 e-newsletter subscribers. After all, who is more qualied and more passionate about sharing their opinions and ratings about new products, services and innovations than show organizers? The end result will be the highest honor we can bestow on an innovator!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Starting the month of June, Trade Show Executive begins accepting nominations (refer to entry form for specific categories). Based on those nominations, the magazine’s editors will select the finalists and publish a 1/3 page description of the entry in the July issue and online for readers to evaluate and vote on. During the voting phase, readers will vote for what they believe are the most innovative products, services and organizations in the trade show industry.

HOW DO I ENTER?

Download the official entry form and submit the completed form by emailing it to Kathleen Maloney at innovationawards@tradeshowexecutive.com or fax it to (760) 630-9104. You will receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours. If you do not hear from us, this means that your entry was not received, and you must resubmit it to be officially entered. Trade Show Executive is not responsible for entries sent to the wrong email address. Do not submit your entry to TSE staff members — those submissions will not be entered into the awards.

Here are some additional guidelines in completing the entry form:

  • You must also separately submit artwork of the product, service, convention center and/or company logo associated with your entry. Artwork must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi) and be at least 4 inches in height.
  • The description on why your product or service is innovative (maximum 200 words) can be provided in a separate Word document.
  • Avoid hype and unverifiable claims. All claims and superlatives must be substantiated with separate documentation, which is not considered part of the 200-word submission.)
  • Multiple submissions as well as entering in multiple categories are permitted, but you must fill out a separate form for each entry.

WHAT IS THE COST TO ENTER?

The cost to enter is $150 for each submission except for “The Most Innovative Organization” category, which is free of charge. Nominate your boss! Your client! Yourself!

HOW DOES THE VOTING WORK?

Votes are limited to one vote per award category per day. Duplicate votes from an individual on the same day will be rejected and that voter will be permanently barred from voting. To vote, users must provide their name, organization and an email address. Votes submitted from personal email addresses (i.e. AOL.com, Hotmail.com, Comcast.com, etc.) will be rejected. Employees cannot vote on the entry/entries submitted by their organization, otherwise large companies will have an unfair advantage. We have internal checks in place to detect fraudulent voting activity. Trade Show Executive reserves the right to exclude votes that it deems fraudulent.
