Industry professionals will converge on Orlando, Fla., where UFI is set to host its 8th Educational Forum on Sustainable Development. After three sold-out editions in Asia, and by request of the industry community, this is the first time it’s being held in North America.

Scheduled for Aug. 6-7, the one-and-a-half-day event will take place at the Orange County Convention Center, a facility known for its innovative and large-scale sustainability program.

“Thanks to UFI’s global network, the event will see 13 speakers from seven countries from the Americas, Europe and Asia sharing best practices, measurement initiatives and much more,” UFI CEO Kai Hattendorf said.

Now in its eighth year, the event aims to provide attendees with a platform to exchange knowledge about the main drivers for implementing sustainability in the event industry today.

The forum kicks off with a tour of the venue, followed by a variety of interactive sessions featuring guests from around the globe. The remainder of the day’s schedule includes a showcase of the latest sustainable practices pertinent to organizers, venues, contractors and other partners.

“This is the only international annual event in our industry focusing on sustainability and the place to go to meet the experts and colleagues covering this vital topic,” Hattendorf said.

Because the forum happens right before the SISO Leadership Conference, which is also held in Orlando, eligible guests will have the opportunity to attend both conferences.
