TSE Wins Five ASBPE Awards

CHICAGO — Trade Show Executive won five prestigious Azbee Awards of Excellence during the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) Upper Midwest gala.

TSE brought home two gold, one silver and two bronze awards for their reporting in news analysis, case history and special supplement categories. Two articles and the special supplement were written by Editor-at-Large, Danica Tormohlen and two of the award-winning articles were written by Senior Editor, Sandi Cain.

“We are thrilled to have received this recognition by such a prestigious organization. Everyone on our staff works diligently to cover and bring attention to our industry. We are proud to continue our long tradition of creating an award-winning magazine,” said TSE Publisher & Editor Gabrielle Weiss. “Danica and Sandi are both solid journalists and they really hit it out of the park this year. We are all we are very proud of their achievement.”

The Azbees are one of the most competitive award programs for trade media. They honor the best in business-to-business media, and recognize outstanding work by B2B, trade, association and professional publications.

This year, more than 1,000 Azbee entries were received. More than 100 experienced B2B editors and designers judged the 78 entry categories.

TSE was named a finalist for five awards — two national and five regional. The national winners will be announced May 10 at the B2B Media Success Conference in Washington D.C.

TSE’s national finalists are Tormohlen, for her article on reimagining Oracle’s Open World conference, and News Editor Sandi Cain’s story for her recent look at trade show and event security.

Along with Tormohlen and Cain, Weiss; Associate Managing Editor David Roknic; Interim Art Director Shannon Mashek, and Graphic Designer James Miller, were also included in the nominations.
