Half Moon Bay, Calif. — Reed Exhibitions was named the top show organizer, and The NAMM Show hit all the right notes to earn the Greatest Trade Show of 2016 Grand Award at the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Awards & Summit.

David Loechner, President and CEO of Emerald Expositions, received Trade Show Executive’s first Gold Standard in Excellence Award. The Grand Awards presentations on Sept. 28 capped another memorable Gold 100 at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay outside San Francisco.

“David’s outstanding leadership and ability to lead Emerald to become the first publicly traded U.S.-based trade show organizer company has truly set a new standard in our industry. It was our honor to award David with our first ever TSE Gold Standard in Excellence Award,” said Richard "Rick" Simon, Chairman and President of TSE and President & CEO of United Service Companies. “It was a great privilege to share the awards stage with David, as well as with other top winners such as Reed, The NAMM Show, CES and the rest of the honorees and guests.”

Loechner was also in the Gold 100 spotlight as the guest of honor at the Legends & Leaders Power Lunch Interview, which highlighted the program of content-filled sessions, unique networking opportunities and, of course, the Gold Grand Awards.

Reed received the Grand Award for Top Show Organizer, with seven shows on the Gold 100 roster accounting for 7 percent of the entire Gold 100 market. Jenn Heinold, Senior Vice President of Events at Access Intelligence, LLC, received the Marketing Genius Award.

CES took home the most gold at the end of the night, capturing three Grand Awards, including Largest Trade Show of 2016, Best VIP Program and Most Commendable Green Initiative.

The NAMM Show culminated with two awards; the Do-Gooder Award for its community contributions, and the coveted Greatest Trade Show of 2016 Award for its overall size, strategy and execution.

“Congratulations to all of the honorees and to every show that earned its membership in the Gold 100 list,” TSE Publisher/Editor Gabrielle Weiss said. “These events set the pace for the industry’s overall growth last year and will continue to lead both by example and concrete results in the year ahead.”
