Westport, Conn. — SPTechCon, the largest independent SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 conference, has been acquired by Exposition Development Co. (ExpoDevCo) from BZ Media. The deal was arranged through Corporate Solutions of Westport Conn. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In announcing the acquisition, ExpoDevCo CEO David Audrain said that current Event Director Stacy Burris has joined ExpoDevCo and will continue to serve as the SPTechCon Event Director. Audrain joined ExpoDevCo’s Chief Operating Officer and Partner Stephanie Everett to welcome SPTechCon events to the company. “The (BZ Media) team have built a wonderful brand, and we look forward to continuing to develop the market for this brand,” he said.

SPTechCon provides training for IT professionals, corporate decision-makers and information workers and developers who work with SharePoint and Office 365 products. It has drawn more than 1,000 buyers annually for the past eight years, according to BZ Media CEO Ted Bahr. This year, it will be held at the Bethesda North Marriott near Washington, D.C., Nov. 12-15.
