Emerald Expositions Buys RFID Journal Live!

San Juan Capistrano, Calif.—Emerald Expositions has purchased RFID Journal Live! Conference & Expo from RFID Journal LLC for an undisclosed price. 

The deal, which was announced Wednesday, also includes RFID Journal's news website and RFID Connect social-media site. 

In addition, Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's Founder and CEO and an undisclosed number of his current team have joined Emerald Expositions as part of the purchase. Roberti now reports to Joe Randall, Emerald's Executive Vice President. 

"Mark is an industry icon and has built a great business throughout the last 15 years," Randall said. "We are delighted that he and his team will be joining us, and we expect that together we can accelerate the growth of the RFID Journal Live! Brand and deliver even more value and support to the global RFID community." 

Roberti added: "RFID technology is increasingly used to track and identify objects, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, defense, pharmaceuticals, farming and retail markets. I am excited  that with Emerald's scale and events expertise behind us, we will be able to expand RFID Journal LIVE! events to meet the growing needs of RFID industry worldwide."

RFID Journal Live! is the world's largest and most important event focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and related technologies, bringing together buyers, sellers, researchers, academics, consultants and others interested in using RFID technologies to identify, track and manage assets and inventories," said Nick Curci, President of Corporate Solutions. His company arranged the sale.

The purchase expands Emerald's current Technology & eCommerce Group which includes Internet Retailer and Digital Dealer.
