Douglas Stephens Brings His Vision of a New Age of Business to Fastest 50

Las Vegas, NV – Douglas Stephens, the author and futurist who has earned the reputation of “Retail Prophet,” will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 Awards & Summit in Las Vegas.

It is not only a whole new world, but the end of an era in the history of consumerism, according to Stephens, as digital and mobile technology gives customers the ability to source products from virtually anywhere without having to step foot inside a store.

But the face-to-face interactions and customer experiences offered in a physical setting are also powerful, whether it takes place inside a brick-and-mortar shopping mall or a little further upstream on the show floor of a convention center. “We shop for reasons other than acquiring more stuff,” says Stephens, the founder of Retail Prophet and author of the new book “The Retail Revival.”  And while his focus is on the evolution of the retail sector, his advice and insights have everything to do with the changes that are steadily taking place in the exhibitions industry. “You have to reimagine the experience around your product,” he says.

Douglas Stephens spent 20 years as a retail executive before launching The Retail Prophet, a research and consulting firm that specializes in developing innovation that improves store design and customer experience. His knowledge will provide an inspiring kickoff to the full educational program at the Fastest 50 Awards & Summit.
